What is Dholera SIR?

Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is India’s first and largest greenfield smart city, being developed across approximately 920 sq km in the state of Gujarat — nearly twice the size of Mumbai’s island city.

It is a central government initiative, part of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Unlike private township projects, Dholera is planned, funded, and governed jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat through a dedicated authority — DSIRDA.
